Pay no attention to the scam farm behind the curtain

From the novelist/memoirist/poet Joe Dunthorpe, in the Guardian: a reminder that forced labor is alive and well in the Age of A.I.

Of course, the big political story is that on Tuesday, the Democrats seized control of various governorships and of both U.S. legislative chambers, winning elections in such traditionally Republican states as Kansas, Texas, and South Carolina. And even where the Democrats didn’t capture the biggest prizes – e.g., in Indiana – they made significant gains. The conspicuous exceptions were a few mostly empty swaths of Montana, Nebraska, and South Dakota (I wonder why those areas).

Power has so shifted within the states that the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact should be able to obtain its targeted enrollment. Assuming that legal obstacles are overcome, the popular vote will decide the next president, no matter which party wins in each state.

That’s something to be chuffed about.

Enticing, also, are the prospects of ending the Iran War (no easy task) and of doing away with nonsensical tariffs and with cruel, arbitary detentions and deportations.

Perhaps certain gutted initiatives and agencies will be resurrected.

Perhaps remorseful overtures will be made to the Canadians.
